Corian® – the material

Corian®, a blend of natural minerals and acrylic polymer for high-grade surfaces, combines aesthetics with high performance and hygiene.

Corian® is manufactured exclusively by DuPont since 30 years.  

Easy to clean, hardwearing, elegant and hygienic Corian® is the perfect choice for sophisticated applications in home and commercial environments.

Since Corian® is non-porous, the surface is resistant to mould and mildew, bacteria and germs.

There is no need for special surface treatment. A common household cleaner will do for the daily cleaning.

Corian® is approved for the foodstuff sector in compliance with the Food Act §§ 30 and 31, sec. 1.

Corian® is extremely heat-resistant. However, it is recommended to use a plate to put down hot pots and pans.

At room temperature Corian® does not emit any volatile substances or gases. It is non-toxic, chemically stable and anti-allergic and thus suited for highly sensitive areas such as operating rooms.

All colours of Corian® are classified as flame-resistant in accordance with Class 1 (ASTM E-84).

Given normal wear and tear Corian® is almost immune from breakage, chipping or peeling.

As Corian® is a massive, homogenous material, colours will not fade even when exposed to harsh sunrays.

Corian® is extremely tough and well suited for exterior applications.

Minor cuts or scratches on the surface of Corian® can easily be removed with a sponge and scouring powder. More severe damage should be taken care of by the experts of our Corian® “Quality Network”. DuPont grants a limited warranty of 10 years for all Corian® products and installations by members of the Corian® “Quality Network”.

Corian® can be refurbished and reshaped. Existing installations can often be replaced, reshaped or modified without major effort, thus ensuring long-term investment guarantee.

Apart from aesthetics and versatility the design options are almost limitless. Corian® can be formed into virtually any shape.

DExtraordinary effects can be created by the almost seamless combination with other materials such as wood or glass.
